Clutch Hoses Available Here. Clutch hoses are part of your vehicle’s manual transmission system. When you step on your clutch pedal, the master cylinder pushes pressurized hydraulic fluid through the clutch hose and down to the slave cylinder to disengage your clutch. Flexible clutch hoses are made of heavy-duty rubber, sometimes with metal layers to withstand the pressures of normal vehicle operation. Nevertheless, they can eventually become brittle and crack over time. If this happens it can develop a leak. Not only will the fluid need to be replenished, the whole clutch system can be compromised since it requires pressure to operate. The first sign of a deteriorating clutch hose is difficulty shifting or grinding when changing gears.
